This will send any mail addressed to anyone at all, @domain.com, for
whom there isn't already a specific line in the virtusertable, back to
the sender with the "No such user here" error.

There are lines for each of the domains in your RaQ that look something
like this:
@domain.com %1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
to convert every address from @domain.com to @www.domain.com, and that's
why the "www.domain.com" works properly in all the other lines. This is
done to allow you to either collect mail at user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or (if
you check the right box in the gui) at user@xxxxxxxxxxx
