Happy easter and Merry christmas to all of you,
Ok now let's get serious, we just had some serious trouble with a cobalt
RaQ3. It suddenly stopped and just refused to boot again.
Sigh, we had to take it out of it's rack where it had been up and running
for quite a while. In order to see what happened we linked it to a terminal
so that we could see the boot phase. Finally after removing several inodes,
the machine booted again.
We believe that it was hard disk failure, but now comes my question.
Does a RaQ 3/4 maintain logs of any eventual hardware failures ??
If not ( Sun Cobalt, this one's for you ) could it be added easily ??
Because as one says in French "Mieux vaut prevoir que guérir".
