RE: [cobalt-users] Disaster recovery

I thought it (Staqware) had been discontinued... in fact
looking at the
Cobalt site there seems very little information even about
the RAQ3 (and I
think Staqware was only available on the RAQ3i)?

On My Staqware box it says it requires two RaQ3i or RaQ4i servers
Each with two Ethernet ports and identical size Hard Disks.

On their press release (from 2000) it says 3i's but I am not saying you are wrong... see: http://emea.cobalt.com/about/press/2000/000522.html

... in fact on further investigation (see: http://emea.cobalt.com/support/pdf/manual.staqware.pdf - on page 9) - the manual for Staqware does state it runs on a RaQ3i or RaQ4i - but equally it does appear "discontinued" as that was found under their "Discontinued Manuals" pages - see: http://emea.cobalt.com/support/resources/discontinued.html

Note the RaQ3 is also listed on there (the discontinued manuals pages) but also on the current manuals pages!

I have e-mailed Sun to find out whether StaqWare is still available.

I am pretty sure it has been discontinued but it will be a shame as the press release announcing it as a new product was only about a year ago!!

Thanks...
