Quantum Snapservers are simple NAT devices that plug into the network,
they come in different sizes from 10 gigs up to 300+gigs. I have a few
of them in my environment for helping to store all the aerial imagery we
use in our office. The larger ones now offer raid 5, I just bought one
from dell, they rebrand them under the name Powervault 705N. They have
a simple web interface that allows you to set it up, and it will support
Netware, Microsoft, NFS and Appletalk.
