I've not come up against this specific issue before, but certainly your
RaQ won't boot if the primary drive is new, and it has to boot before it
can do anything about the mirror.

I'd switch drives.  Don't forget to change the jumpers.

Since I've never done this before, be prepared for it to fail <wry
grin>.
