Hello,

I haver an additional question regarding replacing a drive from a RaQ3i.

I've been told that I need to get a 20G, 33-DMA drive, for a "straigh-across"
replacement, but what I'm finding shoping around is that most stores in my
area only cary 100-DMA drives now. Would it be impossible, or ill-advised
to put a 20G, 100-DMA drive in it's place?

Thanks Much,

Just stick with a 5400 rpm drive.

The drives will step down (as long as they say they will, and I believe they all will at this time) to DMA66 and DMA33 (the 33 is what is important to you). The speed of the drive (5400rpm vs 7200rpm or faster if talking SCSI) is more important to heat generation. The 5400rpm is cooler in general. Based on various things in the drives architecture, a 5400rpm drive can actually be faster than a 7200rpm. Speed is not always a benefit.
