I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to do this, but is it worth it? If I had
*any* doubts about a hard drive that I'm going to put my precious data on, I
would just replace it. Drives are cheap these day's. The time that you spend
diagnosing and using a questionable drive only to have it fail two weeks
from now is *way* more costly than a $120 dollar 30 gig hard drive.

I've seen ppl on the list say not to go over 30 gig (kernel limit?). It's
been discussed before. Take a look in the archives. Here's something I found

Somebody else mentioned that a 7200 rpm drive might be overkill because the
bus speed is slow and it might run a little too hot. So stick to 5400rpm
drives is my guess.
