I thought about canceling the card, but the next time I need help, I would probably be refused.
As the one who started this thread, let me add.
I am willing to pay for support. Reasonable support for reasonable amounts paid. When I called Sun, I knew it was going to cost $95.00. The tech was able to help point out MY errors. While I was fixing the error, rather than have him wait, I asked him if I could call him back. He said ok, and gave me a ticket number to be able to call back. I fixed my part of the problem, then called back. The said the ticket was closed, but that the system may need updating and to call back in a few minutes. I called back the next day, the ticket was still closed. The only way back to a tech was to pay another $95.00. They did say that if it was the same problem, they would credit the charge if I asked.
I then talked to the tech, took about 2 minutes to fix the rest of the problem. I told him of the previous ticket and gave him the number. I than hung up. I then realized that I didn't specifically tell him to credit the bill back. I called again, but couldn't get anywhere, unless I paid yet another $95.00 to talk to them again. The operators were useless. So, I was charged $95.00 twice!! for the same problem.
Again, I think most are willing to pay reasonable amounts for reasonable support. Remember, Cobalt sells these boxes as boxes for dummies. I'm not supposed to be a Unix guru to own one of the box's. With that in mind, they should realize what the support issues are.
