Hello. I am a new owner of a RaQ4i and I'm now setting up my first virtual
sites. I use
my RaQ as primary server and my ISP as secondary. My IP is
[216.12.214.19]. My master site is [www.ibn.gr] and when I make a ping or
a traceroute I take replies from this IP. I just setup up another site
[www.e-vote.gr] but when I make ping/traceroute or just access this site
via web, the IP which I see is [64.42.19.183]. What is this IP? I think I
must see the same IP (216.12.214.19) for all virtual sites.
Thank you.
I take it that you really did not just set up this new site
(www.e-vote.gr), but you just set it up on your RaQ by moving it from some
other hosting location. It appears that the dns has not proliferated
throughout the network yet. It appears to be within Verio. Both URL's
will go to Verio via tracert, but the e-vote.gr then goes to atgi.net where
the ibn.gr stays on verio until connecting with your RaQ. Give it a bit
more time. This in my opinion is just one of the problems with running
your own primary and secondary dns servers. Never really a good idea to
run on the same network and even worse on the same machine. Many people
will tell you they do it. Anyway, give it a couple of days if you haven't
already. If it has been a few days, then you need to look for some
upstream help as the servers upline from you are not being updated with
your dns changes.
