a sysreset doesn't work the way you think it does, you'd be best off with a
os restore at this stage.
what it does is just wipe the UI entries clean, allowing you to start back
from the wizard again. it does not magically remove patches and sets the
machine back to it's original factory conditioned state.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Kernel header problems after sysreset?
I have had my RaQ3 for about a week now. I did a 'sysreset' on the machine
after only installing the package updates from Cobalt (all of them,
including OS Update 4.0). After that, I went back to re-install the packages
again, assuming they needed to be re-applied (like MS SP's -- remember, I'm
a newbie at Linux admin). I figured it would tell me if the package was
already there. I was right, but only after I re-installed the OS Update 3.0
update and a few other packages without problems. While it took those, when
I got to the OS Update 4.0, it said it was already installed and did for all
other past that update. When I type 'uname -a', I now have Linux 2.214C5.
However, packages installed shows kernel-headers-2.2.16C27_III-5. I'm afraid
I may have reset the server back to an earlier version. And it will not let
me install the packages again, it says 'already installed'. Should I force
it with rpm? Should I force all of the updates again using Upgrade or other
options with rpm?
I started noticing the problem when trying to make SSH and PHP. I was
getting errors pertaining to the kernel headers
(/usr/include/bits/errno.h:25: linux/errno.h: No such file or directory).
Any help is greatly appreciated!
