Hi Everyone,
We are progressing on this effort... Thanks to Rickard Osser, X
is up and running on the box without a local keyboard or mouse.. but
X won't talk to the PCI video card (there is no screen output at all).
This is a system without any video/VGA support in BIOS. But since
we plan to run at higher resolutions, I believe this might be okay.
Does anyone know how to get X to talk directly to a video card,
or any tests to see what might (not) be happening. The lack of
video support at the BIOS level might be killer, but I don't think
so.
Rickard's latest note is included.
Regards,

Hi Dave,
I've tried both Xfree 3.3.6 and XFree 4.1... You need to turn on VGA
console support in the kernel to get X past the /dev/console error
message.
I've gotten X up and runnning on the Qube3, BUT!!! I don't get any output
to the screen as X doesn't seem to find aný screens in the config file.
Which leads me to believe it actually checks the card for "present
status" and as I haven't found a way to turn on the screen I'm stuck.
Anyway, if you find out how to turn on the VGA card to produce some output
let me know.
Best regards,
Rickard Osser
