[cobalt-users] duplex question

Hello All,
I believe the cobalt raq's are supposed to auto negotiate duplex.
I have some raqs connected into a cisco catalyst 5500. If I have the
network guys set the switch to full duplex (on the raq port), I see
collisions on my eth0 and transfer at 70kB/sec from a solaris machine on
the network. When I set the switch to half duplex for the cobalt raq port,
the collisions continue (much faster) but I start getting 700kB/sec from
the solaris machine (using secure copy to do these transfers, BTW)

So my question is why do I see collisions either way I set the switch
and if raqs do auto negotiate, why is full duplex so much slower?
