I give up. I surrender. I grovel.
I have searched the archives on several occasions. I have cruised the
Cobalt site. I have cuised the web all to no avail. Either my problem is
unique (unlikely) undocumented (unlikely) or I am a lousy searcher (slightly
possible).
I am trying to install pkg files on my Raq1/Raq2 device acontinually have
problems. The files all come back as bad pkg file unless I dl to update to
my office box (linux mandrake) and access the control panel from there with
the browser.
I have tried saving the files locally on the Cobalt, and installing from
there by pointing to it while in several directories (ie:
/tmp/RaQ2-Update-OS-2.0.pkg). I have tried putting the files in a local ftp
directory ftp1.xxx.xxx.net/ftp. I have tried putting in the address
directly (ie: ftp://ftp.cobalt.com/pub/packages/raq2/eng/xxx.pkg). All I
get is bad package errors.
I have been able to install the pkg's a rpms, but they will not show in the
control panel as installed. I am at a total loss here.
Please advise me on this.
