As admin you can control it by going into /etc/mail/aliases and adding:
username: username, external@xxxxxxxxxx
Then run:
newaliases
Or the user can control by going into the user's directory and creating a
.forward file as follows:
pico -w ~username/.forward
\username, external@xxxxxxxxxx
ctrl-o to save
