This would allow that user to connect from anywhere - even if he's
not on the machine. I consider this a security hole, while others
find it to be a really useful feature, such as if they need to use an
ODBC driver to connect to the database with the excel program on
their home machine.

Frank, try just changing the "host" field in your PHP script to
"localhost", rather than "ns1.domain.net".

I'm now trying to find a way to randomize them automagically so I can
