I cannot seem to reach my cobalt unit through
ethernet, nor reset the IP, netmask and gateway
numbers from the LCD panel on the front. I am not a

Theo,

I had a problem where my root partition got filled up. The password file
was corrupted, and the server would not shut down from the LCD. And the
password would not reset with the paper clip. I had someone pull the
drive, delete the offending file in my root partition, and recreate the
password file and then it worked.

So, it may be that the files (where the setings you are trying to reset
exist at), are corrupted or deleted. I'm not sure which ones those would
be.
