I did install PHP 4.0.6 from source to my RaQ3 the other day, with no
major problems thanks to Jens Peter information from the archives:

From my posting last Sunday:
---------- reply -----------
First let me quote from the above reference;
****************************
Edit following lines in /usr/sbin/apxs:
Line 80:
my $CFG_SBINDIR = '/usr/sbin'; # substituted via APACI install
^
Line 203:
($rc, @ARGV) = &Getopts("qn:gco:I+D+L+l+S+W+iaA", @ARGV);
^^
****************************
I can see how this would solve the make install error,
but just by adding the +S to the available options
list, will PHP actually function properly, or will
I still have to re-compile mod_so into Apache??
