Currently we use a rh7 box as our app server and a rh6.2 box running
postgres. We are not thrilled w/ our redundancy and are looking to upgrade.
We are thinking of getting a couple cobalt raq4s and installing the
jdk-tomcat package And using the preinstalled postgres package.
I suspect the replication will work? When I look at my disk space allocation
(df) on our staqware raq4is it says /dev/mdX which I believe is a raid
volume????
Questions are :
1. will staqware work as well as it does in the case of the "supported"
configurations?
2. Am I going to take a huge beating in terms of performance - we are
running DB and JAVA on separate servers, DB server has 128MB ram, running at
about 59MB used. App server has 512MB ram 411 MB used, both are P3-866
boxes w/ ata 66.
Any one have any experience w/ it?
Sai.
