RE: [cobalt-users] PHP RAQ4 Re-configuration

Yes,
you do have to recompile php once you have installed all your libaries
 and when you type
./configure
you have to include the bits you want php to include
eg --with-jpeg=/usr/lib/local/jpeg
I'm not sure if you have to type the path to the binaries or the .header
files as my raq had php already on it.

If you set up a blank php file with <?php phpinfo(); ?> this will show you
how your php has been configured and copy that lot as well when compiling

I haven't done this yet and I shall be doing it tommorrow

Thanks for your reply, I just don't want to mess it up and find I can't get
is sorted
My eariler post was to intergrate png & jpeg support for PHP4,
but I have managed to install these as there is a gallery script that needed
installing that required those libaries
I also installed zlib, gd-1.8.4
Once again thanks

I missed your earlier post, but when you install a newer version of PHP
there's no need to remove any files associated with the existing PHP install
first.
