Re: [cobalt-users] [RaQ4] Updating to Apache 1.3.20. How?

Jan,

Unless somebody gives you more especific help, these are some tips for you:

1. #httpd -l to get the list of all modules included

2. #httpd -V to get the rules, paths, extra CFLAGS, etc...

3. With those informations go for the pieces needed.

4. Install complex modules may be a little bit tricky to configure (mod_ssl AND mod_perl as in the case of the Raq3) so go for tips to achieve this on the packages docs.

Hope it helps,

Bob

Dear Cobalt users,

I am trying already for several weeks to get Apache updated to 1.3.20
on the RaQ4.
After downloading the apache sources I build the same configuration as
it had, thus, the modules matched, the locations of the logs and
config files matched and the new Apache should use the config files
that 1.3.12 left there.

That's the way I hoped it would be.

Sad enough when I start the new 1.3.20 Apache it simply doesn't want
to run, no httpd's are being spawned, nothing happens at all. No
entries in the error log, just total silence.

I was wondering if there are packages or guides on how to get this to
work.So far I haven't found any packages that should do this trick.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Jan.
