Hi,

no, they can have the same ip address. Just make sure that the mx
records for domain.com and www.domain.com point to mail.domain.com and
you should be fine. O, also make sure that the clients email programs
(Outlook, Netscape Mail, Mutt, pine,elm, whatever) uses mail.domain.com
both for receiving email and you should be fine.
