Sad to say, but I keep posting a variation on this question. My thanks to
all who've already responded, but I've got what I hope might be a little
extra information.
Our RaQ2 has 256 Megs of DRAM. I don't think you can put any more memory
into RaQ2, but each night at about at the same time we get an "The Cobalt
server needs more memory than it currently has." I've been monitoring
"top" and find that our RaQ seems to typically run at 202 MB of memory
usage. If I were to reboot the server, the memory use would start at about
45 MB and climb to 202MB at a rate of about 10 MB per hour. In lieu of
rebooting, I've found the memory will clear if I gzip a copy of a large log
file or if the RaQ admin runs a scheduled backup. During either of these we
will get a "Cobalt server needs more memory . . ." and the usage drops to
about 45 or 50 MB. Strangely, the job that prompts these messages at the
same time each night doesn't seem to clear the memory.
Any ideas?
