Hello folks
I'm having a frustrating series of problems with a Qube3 running as a
POP/IMAP + file server with client machines on Mac OS9 and Outlook Express
5. I've searched the web and had a look in the achives without any luck.
Several people have encountered the problems below, and various client-based
solutions (re-installing Outlook Express, switching to a different machine)
haven't made a difference which makes me suspect (a) a problem with these
users on the qube or (b) a problem between the qube and Outlook Express.
The problems are :
(POP) Taking forever to connect to server, even in times of very low network
traffic, server reported unavailable though still ok for file serving.
(POP) Messages repeatedly being collected - every connection brings in
another copy, all identical headers. Would immediately suspect outlook
express but this happens with the same user set up on a different imac.
(IMAP) Folder listing empties itself after re-fresh, all messages gone.
again visible on different machines.
(IMAP) Messages come in with blank contents, headers all ok but nothing in
actual message.
I'd be very grateful to anyone who can offer any suggestions!
