Re: [cobalt-users] Setting up DNS/MX - Raq4XTR

It sounds like your domain registrant hasn't switched your nameservers yet.

At 09:01 PM 7/2/01 +0100, you wrote:
Being a brand new user to Cobalt and DNS, I seem to have a bit of trouble
setting up virtual sites. I have registered a domain name call
londonexporthouse.com. This domain is showing the primary DNS as the raq on
OpenSRS.

I have set up the DNS as:

Configure Start of Authority (SOA) Record for londonexporthouse.com

Primary Name Server (NS) Host Name raq4.quarryhouse.co.uk

Secondary Name Server (NS) Host Name (optional) ns3.nacamar.net

  Domain Administrator Email Address dns@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Modify Address (A) Records

Hostname: Domain Name IP Address
www londonexporthouse.com 195.52.74.83

 MX Records set up:

londonexporthouse.com mail is sent to the High priority mail server
mail2.nacamar.net.uk
londonexporthouse.com mail is sent to the Very-High priority mail server
mail.londonexporthouse.com

I have not put any hostname in the MX fields.

Do I need to put in any other entries as when I try and ping
www.londonexporthouse.com I get unknown host, if I ping
mail.londonexporthouse.com, I get the IP address of where it is on my old
ISP's server.

I'm sorry but I need an answer in simple language for now!!

TIA
