I know this has been asked before, but I still can't figure it out.
I have installed PHP3 and MySQL through RPM files in just one hour, and now
I have been working on installing PHP4 for 3 days...and still not succeeded.
this is what I did so far:
./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs --enable-track-vars
(no errors)
make
(no errors)
make install
Error: apxs doesn't know the -S option. I read about this in other posts
too, so I dediced to follow those instructions.
I did: copy php4.ini-dist to the right location (I think)
edited httpd.conf to add the 2 lines (AddType and Loadmodule (or something
like that))
Then I completely rebooted my webserver. At first, it tried to download my
.php files...after some changes here and there, I now get a "Page cannot be
displayed" on my test php file (<?phpinfo();?>
http://www.qb45.com/test.php
I hope someone can help me, because I've tried hard...and I'd be so happy if
it would work!!!
Best regards,
Jorden Chamid
