well thats a head twisting one.....
bottom lines.....
In control-pannel-network
the primary namesever is the server you want to ask first when your raq has
a question.
The secondary nameserver is the server your raq ask when the primary fails
to answer.
depending on your "ip's" reverse lookups and your feelings about log files,
error messages and other goodies you might want to set the primary to your
raqs main ip. otherwise you might want to set it to your isp provided
server (granted they gave you permission) or it works :) then your machie
dosen't do all the work of looking up everything,,,,
Now the server is ready for sites.....
you add a site via the gui... in the dns you want to add namerserver records
for each domain you are in control of.... these will be the same servers as
listed in your "whois" information. just make sure you have control or the
correct information in the "Primary nameserver"

Beats hell out of me too!
It might be easier to just create an account and then remove the web dir or
even just chmod it 700 ?

no and it needs to be an "A record"

address.
