[cobalt-users] Broken admin interface

Dear folks,

I have a big problem I discovered after I replaced the Java runtime
environment of my RAQ4 with Blackdown's Java 2 SDK. First, I broke Postgres
which then disabled certain parts of the admin GUI interface (specifically
the one that lists the sites after logging in as admin), and second, it
seems so many things have gone wrong with the admin account (a lot of
permission denied messages when connecting by shell, some commands that
won't work when it worked before, and the $ prompt being replaced with the #
at the command line), and third, I seem to also have broken sendmail (dunno
if this is really related - have not done any investigation yet). I have
since reinstalled the RPMs for the following: the original cobalt Java
runtime environment, the original Postgres database (all the RPMS for it
from http://ftp.isys.net/ix/Cobalt/products/raq4/RPMS/) and have restarted
the Postgres database and ran meta-verify (from this particular thread:
http://qube-users.qube.de/maillists/cobalt-users/2000-October/msg02435.html)
. I was able to make it run once but when I rebooted, back to the same
problem.
