Re: [cobalt-users] Domain redirect

At 6/20/01 10:30 PM -0700, you wrote:
This isn't good if you are AOL and you buy TimeWarner, you
want the browser to show AOL.com, not TimeWarner.com. (actually it
shows Time.com).

However, as usual on this list, we write for both each other and the benefit of a lot of other people who are just listening. My point was not to correct you--heck, I have no *idea* how to use Rewrite--but simply to illustrate the simplest way for a newbie (the original poster) to direct several domain names to one website.

Rodolfo, you used 2 configurations to achive that, just like I did in
my example. AFAIK, without 2 sections there is no other way to achieve
the desired effect of having all domains redirected into one specific
domain, including *all* possible URLS within the site.

My way is the simplest possible way, and almost everyone will be able to understand it in seconds. Your way is more sophisticated and way more flexible, but will take a little study by a newbie before he/she *understands* what is going on rather than just copy/pasting. Now the poster of the question has a choice; me, I'd start my way just to get things up and running then settle down to learn yours calmly.
