Hello,
I am migrating sites and users from a RaQ3 to a RaQ4. The CMU created .tar
files in /home/cmu/DOMAINNAME that filled my /home partition before nearing
completion.
I have set up all sites and users on the new RaQ4 through the admin GUI and
am moving archives over manually.
The difficulties are these:
1) I do not have, nor should I need the passwords for all the accounts. I'd
like to copy the /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow files over. Will this work???
2) They will both run our main mail server. I will have the MX and A records
changed through our ISP/T-1 provider, but I need to sync the mail in the
meantime! I am attempting to use rdist which requires rsh (or ssl) to work.
I am trying rsh and cannot get it working. I have scripts written and have
written an /etc/hosts.equiv and .rlogin files. I have also made the required
changes to /etc/pam.d/*. What am I missing???
Thanks,
Glenn
