Hi Carrie,
This is a question that I have posted to the list a couple of times
and got no response, so I made my own script to make the logs for the
sites. My file is not as sophisticated as Jim's but it works. I
basically went to the analog home page and downloaded a few of the
more interesting looking third party scripts that are up there for
free.
If you have a few minutes you might find something interesting. I
think there is even one there to automatically create the logs for
virtual sites which can easily be adapted to the RaQ4.
if this is already on the server, WHY are we all forced to
use Webalizer or some other statistics program to read our logs?!?
Again, I have been frustrated with all the talk of Webalizer when we
have what I consider one of the best stats programs right on the
server. I gave all my clients a choice of stats programs, webalizer
and analog. Every user we have that uses these *custom* stats chose
the analog over the webalizer. Main comment, it is much much much
more intuitive and actually has useful information that is accurate.
As soon as I am happy with my script I will post it to the list for
all those that might like it. I am now working on getting it to
intelligently *know* what virtual sites are on the server and create
the stats that way. No configuration that way when a new site is
added and less headaches for me.
If anyone else is working on some custom scripts, I know I would love
to see them and perhaps combine our thoughts and powers to make a
truly *powerful* script to harness analog, and that can be freely
distributed.
My two cents.
Oh, I would also like to thank all those people who contributed
various thoughts to the list over the last few months on migrating a
pile of sites to a new server. We just moved 70 sites from one colo
to a new one with relative ease and only one customer complaint, due
to my over tiredness and a stupid mistake. Thanks again.
