Re: [cobalt-users] How to Value a Web Hosting Company?

Previous to Dan's redirection I did already check the webhostingtalk web site and found nothing about this after an hour of searching. Since many of us are hosting companies or work for one I thought it would be a good discussion since many of the bigger companies are trying to purchase smaller ones right now and we all need to have this information at hand. It may not have to do with cobalt servers directly but it is an issue that many of us have or will face eventually.
If there is a specific list available for this type of discussion that contains the valuable needed information then someone (pelase) needs to bring it forward so we all know about it. Otherwise, any info on this would be appreciated as part of this thread. Maybe some real case history would be nice - generalized valuation techniques - balkpark calculations - something like that.

Franklin put on your kevlar, you're going to get laid wide open for
bringing this up in this list.
BUT, I'd be interested in what responses you get. Thom was going to
start a list for hosting-specific issues like this; I haven't talked
to him in the past few days (been busy) so I don't know if he's done
that.
You may also want to check the forums at www.webhostingtalk.com and
see if this has been tossed around over there; if not start a new
thread and you'll soon have lots of great help.
