Let's try this for the fourth time:
Why is it that none of my postings seem to be getting
on the lsit ????
(it seems impossible at times
to get anything on the list - maybe time to move it??)
---
When we were discussing recently the rather poor facilites
for backup up supplied with the Raq -applicance- (let he/she that has
ears to hear - let them hear) - Someone suggested using the CMU mounted file
system migration
Now can anyone tell me if the following would work
or am I chasing my tail:
I manage two Raq4i's on the same network
One is 19x.xxx.xxx.16 and the other 19x.xxx.xxx.64
If I follow the instructions on Pages 5 and 6 of the CMU manual then
I can see the other file system as instructed.
If I then do a CMU Export - Can I just save it away for later and if
necessary - send it back for a CMU Import on the originator?
Why Do I need to suspend all sites and stop sendmail?
If the program CMU Export/Import combo is not idea,
would tarring and gzipping all of /home onto the other machine do the
job?
Finally - is there any danger of leaving the Mounts in place??
Can I mount each file system on the opposite raq so that it is -two way- ??
If any of this works then, It could provide a reasonable way of backing
up although I would like to automate it if possible
Cheers everybody
