Daniel-
When I performed this operation on my Raq2, I had no difficulty just
compiling gd from scratch. Although, I did have to install libjpeg, libpng,
etc. before I could finish. I also got the source code for those programs
and compiled them from scratch.

Hi,
I want to upgrade the version of GD on my RaQ3s from 1.3 to 1.8.3, which
I've found an RPM for on ftp.cobaltnet.com, under /pub/contrib/i386, but
trying to rpm -Uvh it gives a bunch of dependency errors:
error: failed dependencies:
libXpm.so.4 is needed by gd-1.8.3-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gd-1.8.3-1
libpng.so.2 is needed by gd-1.8.3-1
libttf.so.2 is needed by gd-1.8.3-1
gd = 1.3 is needed by gd-devel-1.3-5
Clearly the last one is easy to get rid of, but what about the others? Are
there Cobalt RPMs out there for those? Can I use plain RH ones?
