On my Cobalt, there is a file:

  /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/URI/URL.pm

on your machine, you'd think that it'd be at

  /usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/URI/URL.pm

Where did you put URI??  If it were in the path
 /usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/i386-linux
 /usr/lib/perl5/5.00503
 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux
 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005

you'd have to be fine!
