r. It's only a problem if they're not cleaning themselves up, when the
pop3 session has finished.
Are they ? If not, then you should investigate whether the pop3 client
(perhaps more specifically, mail program) you're using is detatching from
the server properly, with "QUIT".
Try using another pop3 client on that user's account.
If the files do seem to be cleaning themselves up automagically, then
don't worry, the pop3 server and client are behaving just as expected.
The files prevent another pop3 session from screwing up the existing one,
and also make sure that the MTA has somewhere to store local mail
temporarily.
