I have problems with the pop server on my raq2 server.
When trying to check for new mail it makes some new files in the
home/spool/mail directory the files in the directory looks like this for a
single user:
-rw------- 1 svel mail 0 Jun 2 10:30 .svel.pop
-rw-rw---- 1 svel mail 0 May 20 11:51 svel
-rw------- 1 svel mail 22 Jun 2 16:12 svel.lock
Anyone have an idea about what is causing this?

Hi,
This may or may not be a problem, depending on if the .*.po and *.lock
files disappear after mail has been collected and the connection is broken.
These files are normal and necessary for proper operations. They help
prevent corruptions of mail files if someone is checking their mail and
more mail arrives at the machine for that account at the same moment.
Depending on what updates you have currently installed, there was a problem
where the .pop and .lock files were not being dropped properly so
subsequent attempts to collect mail failed. If this is your case, then
there were some qpopper updates that fixed things. Let me know if you need
more info on this. Otherwise, these files are necessary and no cause for alarm.
