http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com/i386/RaQ3-RaQ4-OpenSSH-2.9p1-1.pkg
will install over an older SSH.
I don't know if you tried this one or not, if not, try it.
It may get to a point where you are going to have to restore the unit.
