Hi Alex. I agree that those containers are there, but adding "AllowOverride
All" for the site was definitely needed to get Apache to allow the php*
directives. "AllowOverride All" is not specified in either of the Directory
containers above, at least not on my client's RaQ4. I am quite sure the
client didn't edit the file since he doesn't know how to work from the
shell, but if you can't duplicate the same behavior on another RaQ4 perhaps
there was a Cobalt upgrade package that modified access.conf and wasn't
installed by the server's owner. And it's interesting that of the 53 active
sites on the server only 12 have Directory containers in access.conf. If
the Directory containers aren't needed for each site why do *some* of them
have them and why weren't these containers created for 75% of the sites? I
see 13 sites have FP extensions enabled so perhaps FP extensions require a
broader AllowOverride setting (FP isn't my forte and I didn't check to see
if they were the same 13 sites). Thoughts? I should say my goal was to get
the software working and I'm satisfied with the result, but if it affects
other RaQ4 boxes I'm sure others are interested.
