My experience with UVNetworks was ok. The appliance
performed comparable to the RaQ. I did have problems
getting such things as Samba working though. UVN
told me that I couldn't use the web appliance and add
external apps to it, I had to get the non-closed unit
if I wanted to those things.
(puzzled ??)
After a few weeks they called back and said that I could
infect add software and services to the box, but warned me
about violating the warranty.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Upset about all the Cobalt limitations?
Hey Guys,
I am sending this out because I am tired of running into all the limitations
of this Cobalt server. I have finally pleaded insanity and searched for
other solutions. What I have found is that no system is perfect(I already
knew that). Also, I have found that you get one thing but not another. Then
low and behold it hit me. A perfect solution would be more bit, ASP support
and something that didn't cost me my co. What I found was that I can get
more bit per buck and I am being offered the SUN Solaris platform. I am not
totally familiar but the research I have conducted has proved to me I have
nothing to lose.
I am seeking some kind of performance evaluation between the UVNetworks
Webbox and the Cobalt. Is anyone familiar with this and why is one box
better than the others?
