Oh MAN does this suck... some people who buy domain names through
these guys are getting ROYALLY screwed. And the thing is, most of them
probably don't even realize it.
Every week I have to teach someone *how* to register a domain name,
and explain to them the "layman's terms" of what DNS is. People just
don't KNOW this stuff and most of them don't bother to do some
research on it before getting a domain name. They just see a good
price and the extension that they want, and they register it. They
don't even bother to check if it's going to be easy to modify things
down the road (ie: nice GUI vs. Netf**k Solutions email BS); they just
register it and think they're okay.

Hooooo boy this has me mad.
I'm an @home user and I couldn't see the domain that was posted the
other day, so I don't know what's up with that. Perhaps @home has
changed its mind, or just hasn't gotten around to updating the DNS
servers in my area yet.
But I can tell you one thing, when I go to www.somesite.shop, I want
to go the the ICANN approved version, not some hack that most of the
rest of the internet isn't going to.
I was right about modifying the HOST file. Oh grrrrrrrrrrrr.

*Stomping off of soapbox to go write @home*
