Hi... I have a .htaccess password protected site on my RaQ4 that is using
the /etc/passwd file for authorization (so any user on the RaQ can access
that area with their username and password). I have recently acquired a
second RaQ, and I need to give users on RaQ #2 access to the password
protected area on RaQ #1. My question is, what's the best way to do this?
The only reasonable thing I can think of is to set up a "generic" user on
RaQ #1 and give that info to the people hosted on RaQ #2. The problem there
is that if the people on RaQ #2 go elsewhere, they'll still have the user
name and password to get to the password-protected area (and changing it
every time someone leaves means the hassle of distributing the new info to
100+ users on RaQ #2).
Any ideas/suggestions/help would be appreciated.
