just a simple change of units;
8 bits in a byte so
if you have 1.540Mbps (mega bits per second) divide by 8 = 0.1925MBps (mega
bytes per second)
1000 MB in a GB so
0.1925MBps divide by 1000 = 0.0001925 GBps (giga bytes per sec)
and assuming a 30 day month 60x60x24x30 seconds in a month so
0.0001925 GBps x 60 x 60 x 24 x 30 = 498.96GB per month
or 515.592GB in a 31 day month
and a T1 line costs around $1,500 (right?) so thats why we usually pay $3
per gig over whatever limit we have.
Hope that helps,
Jim
