Hello Manuel,
Well,I have an identical problem. Updating the kernel with the latest
cobalt patch did not help.
Hereby the errormessages i got:
1. Memory on the Cobalt server is heavily used.
The Cobalt server needs more memory than it currently has.
Consider adding more DRAM to the server.
2.Over the past fifteen minutes, the CPU has been heavily loaded.
This will result in noticible performace loss. Consider moving some of the
services to other Cobalt servers, or reduce the complexity of the CGI
scripts running on the Cobalt server itself.
1 minute load average: 7.10
5 minute load average: 16.00
15 minute load average: 9.29
3. The PostgreSQL server is down and cannot be restarted.
4. ----- Transcript of session follows -----

5 server totally down, even telnet is not possible anymore
ping gives no reaction ...
Anybody had any idea's how to solve this problem, except checking with
top then, because that does not solve the problem .
kind regards,
Martin
MS> Hello all,
MS> we have an RaQ3 here that went down 2 times within the last 2 days. It went
MS> totally down, no services were working any more. Only pinging was possible.
MS> After reboot, the server runs fine.
MS> We did try to check all log files for attacks of any kind, but we did not
MS> find anything. No special cgi loads, or mail loads etc. Everything okay.
MS> It is interesting that this happened two times at almost the same time: one
MS> time at 12:38 pm, one time at 0:23 am. I do not know if this does matter,
MS> but perhaps it could help to find the solution.
MS> If anybody does have any suggestions, then please anwser. If we will not
MS> find a reason for this behaviour, we will have to check the hardware (cpu,
