I recently went through this with no problem. Dump your db's just in case,
uninstall the RPM, then install the PKG. All your db's should still be in
place.

Subject: [cobalt-users] MySQL upgrade from RPM
I have an install of MySQL 3.22.32-1 from RPM. This was prior to
pkg.nl.cobalt.com offering pkg.
Well now I am ready to uprade to 3.23.37-1 package on the site. I am just
wondering if anyone has been through an upgrade from RPM to package.
Will I lose my Data? I have backed it up, but who knows...
Is this a big deal our should I just uninstall the RPM and install the
package?
Server is RAQ3
Thanks,
Scott
