Well, since I understood the code, I didn't get to see the arguments...but
the way I read it, if you missed any one of the 3 required, you got the
error message...so, to my way of viewing it, you were only working with
3 arguments, not 9.

Well, if the domain that you are sending the mail to isn;t on the box,
you'd have to reach out and touch something, somewhere.

For my simple-minded application, move mail for
joe@some_domain_on_my_server to sam@a_domain_not_here, the script worked
with one modification:

echo $NAME"@"$DOMAIN"                      "$RESULT >> /etc/mail/virtusertable

One of the benefits of posting questions to the list is that many folks
can gain from "answering the question" in their own minds and/or posting a
reply.  

It's nice that in spite of the differences, we're all in similar boats,
trying to stay afloat.
