By default configuration there's no way to have POP3 on and IMAP4 off, so
if you have POP3 working, you also have IMAP4 working.

Also please consider that lots of flaws are being found on the IMAP
service every once in a while, and I'm talking about security flaws.
Lots of people on this list had decided to disable IMAP for that reason.
