wise folks -
i recently used the cobalt's system reset script to get my raq2 back to
it's original state.
seems to have worked (meaning that the sites are fine), though when i try
retrieving mail via pop3 in eudora, i get the following error:
"system error, can't open temporary file. Do you own it?"
also on a side note, when i su to another user while logged in as root or
someuser, i get the error "while opening UTMP file: Permission denied"
clearly, i have permission problems...
i have looked in /var/spool/mail for the ".username.pop" files but none
exist. the current permissions are set at u+rw.
the /var/spool/mail directory is a symlink to /home/spool/mail
i have checked the qpopper faq, usenet, cobalt's resources, and various
pages on google's search...
can you folks give me a hand with this?
thanks!
dave
