I am receiving the following error message several times a day in my log files:

 (www.dessol.co.uk[212.78.70.53]) - no such user 'active_monitor'

I can't find any solutions to this in the list archives- can anybody shed
 any light on this problem?

I'm getting the same message. It started just after I installed a
Security Release and rebooted. I'm not sure which one it was because I
had installed several.

I've also noticed that Active Monitor is no longer funtioning, although
monitor is being called from cron. Running it from the command line
produces no errors.

This is on a Raq2.

Apparently, this is just the Cobalt GUI interface checking whether FTP is still up and running- there is nothing to worry about with these messages. If you are running LogCheck, just bung the line in the logcheck.ignore file.
