I'm not familiar with the suspend functionality on a RaQ4 since I don't own
one, but I'm not surprised. Records would have to be commented out in one
or more sendmail files to do one or more of the following: block email to a
domain, block email to a user, prevent mail forwarding. It wouldn't be
difficult to write scripts to block all services for a customer, but since
some Cobalt users would want to receive mail while the site is suspended and
some wouldn't that would have to be taken into account. If enough people
have a problem with the current behavior and Cobalt is made aware of it,
perhaps it will be changed in an OS upgrade...or future product lines that
won't help your particular case.
When I suspend a site I usually do the following:
Use an AliasMatch line in a site's VirtualHost container in httpd.conf to
point all site pages to a PHP page I wrote for suspended sites.
Put an "*" in front of each affected user's encrypted password in
/etc/passwd.
Comment out any aliases in /etc/aliases.
I usually allow the accounts to continue to receive email as a courtesy to
the suspended clients, but it doesn't do them any good until they pay b/c
they can't see it until then.
