Well, under normal circumstances these error message have one of these
reasons:
- you started webalizer with a, huh, say, user who has no rights to access
different site directories --> run as root
- the specific log files were empty or not even existing because they
haven't been generated yet.
As John D. wrote an hour ago, webalizer2 will start the following day (I
simply forgot). But hey, have you read the remark about the first of the
month on http://cobalt-aid.sourceforge.net? There's a quite important
remark!
Sometimes you get different error messages about truncating something. This
is just yada yada. Better ignore it.

Hendrik

I hadn't realised my reply had posted ... kept getting 'mail delivery
failure - mail spool full', so please excuse any repeats!!
I'm logged in as root, so that's not the problem.
This is a new install so ignored the remark about the first of the month :)
What generates the web.log file, is this apache or webalizer? I installed
this yesterday, but so far can't see anything happening - gotta work on the
basis that I have missed something ...
Thanks
Colin
